Sinclair Calculator- TAG Sinclair Calculator

The Sinclair Coefficients are a means to compare different weight classes in olympic weightlifting. The answer to the question "What would be the total of an athlete weighing X kilograms if he/she were an athlete in the heaviest class of the same level of ability?" is given by the formula: ACTUAL TOTAL × SINCLAIR COEFFICIENT = SINCLAIR TOTAL.

To compare and rank the results, especially between bodyweight categories, the International Weightlifting Federation uses the Sinclair Coefficients which are derived statistically and calculated for one Olympic cycle (for four years, starting in the beginning of each year following the Olympics).  The IWF also uses Robi points as an alternate calculation.

Sinclair Coefficients

Female

Coefficient - 0.787004341
Maximum BWT - 153.757

Male

Coefficient - 0.722762521
Maximum BWT - 193.609

Excel Formula for calculating Sinclair

For Men

=Total*(10^(0.722762521*((LOG10(Bodyweight/193.609))^2)))

For Women

=Total*(10^(0.787004341*((LOG10(Bodyweight/153.757))^2)))

The above formulae are for the 2021-2024 cycle.

Sports accident insurance- TAG Insurance

All sanctioned Saskatchewan Weightlifting events are insured with a maximum of $10 million in liability coverage. Sanctioned events include competitions, training camps, meetings and clinics, and Saskatchewan Weightlifting must have an approved sanction request on file. At a sanctioned event, all parties are insured, including athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and spectators.

Training does not fall under a sanctioned event as described above.

It is the responsibility of the Training Centre to ensure that the TC’s and all members have appropriate Saskatchewan Weightlifting memberships.

It is also the responsibility of the TC’s to ensure that the facility and the equipment being used for the purposes of training meet applicable safety standards.

Should an incident occur at a sanctioned event, SWA must be notified within 7 days, and an Accident Claim Form (sent as an attachment) must be submitted to the Saskatchewan Weightlifting within 75 days.
