Volunteering Is Vital to our small community and our sport!

Volunteering is crucial for a non-profit athletic association like the Saskatchewan Weightlifting Association (SWA), especially with a small membership of under 300. In organizations of this size, the ability to run competitions, events, and developmental programs often relies heavily on the time and effort contributed by volunteers. The SWA depends on its members and supporters to step up and take on various roles, from event setup and teardown to officiating and committee work. These volunteer efforts not only ensure the smooth operation of the association but also foster a strong sense of community and ownership among members. In smaller organizations, each volunteer hour has a magnified impact, directly contributing to the growth and sustainability of the sport within the province. Volunteering also provides members with the opportunity to give back to the sport they love, ensuring that future generations of athletes have access to the same opportunities.
